I have had the pleasure of working with Matt Wyse for the past 17 years. Eight years as a member of my middle school and high school bands and nine years as a member of my band staff. Matt currently serves in the position of assistant director and is in charge of the visual program for the Railroader Regiment.
Matt has been a huge addition to my staff. He has created a tradition of strong visual performances for my students. Matt has a way of making basics fun and it shows in the way my students present themselves and move on the field. Through Matt’s hard work and professional ethics, he has earned the respect of my students, parents, boosters, and administration.
I know that you will find Matt to be a huge addition to your marching program. You will find his enthusiasm and love for the activity to be contagious. I know that Matt pushes my students to be the best that they can be. They love him for all that he does for them.

I've enjoyed working with Matt this year on my halftime show! The drill he wrote for my band was perfect for my small band. It was simple, but enough of a challenge for my students to enjoy learning the show. I look forward to working with Matt next year on my halftime show!

Matt is an outstanding professional. He put together an amazing drill design for the 2009 Hoover High School Marching Band. He is innovative and has the ability to create unique and interesting designs that allow for the students to reach their utmost potential while keeping realistic goals in mind. Matt kept me involved with the enitire design process and we received our complete drill long before our first band camp. I would highly recommend Wyse Drill Designs to anyone looking for high quality drill at a competitive price.

I was quite excited to see that Garrett had shaped up a lot since Week 1. This is a new, more current show style for them, and it's really beginning to pay off. The effects are nice, and the theme is clear. The music and visual packages fit together very well. Good choice on the rainsticks and that particular synth patch in the ballad, both additions provided a decent amount of depth to the sound in that movement. Ensemble visual is strong; forms and intervals were locking fairly well for the middle of the season. My one issue musically: attacks on both impacts and beginnings of phrases were not together! Playing within the phrases was actually a bit impressive, and there were some nicely balanced releases. Attacks were everywhere, though...on a positive note, however, that struck me as the last "big" issue...all microcleaning/nitpicky poits after that, which is great. The mellow solo was strong, and the woodwind sound was awesome because of its weighted presence (meaning it hung quite well with the brass line in the full ensemble sound...and I'm a woodwind primary here at BSU, so I don't just say that about any woodwind section). Strong show from a strong band....glad to see Garrett improving so much. I would expect the band to be back at D Semi-Finals this season."

Matt Wyse,
I really enjoyed the show this weekend....it was really, really sloppy, but the drill has been pulled out (finally) of 1984 : ) . I'm not so worried about the ex, I know you guys know how to clean your band...I was mostly excited about the design. It seems to be a big change movement-wise for the RR, but they're handling it.
I was actually sitting almost immediately (a few seats down) to the left (looking at the field) of Dathan Echols (the IM.com staff member videotaping) when you introduced yourself. I thought, "Hey! I know that name!" ...thought about introducing myself, but then the band started, and I assumed you had bigger fish to fry. Anyway....just wanted to say great job on the drill design. It was working. Can't wait to see it clean up!
